Is the second largest city in Sri Lanka, in the Central Province. The most popular Kandy cultural event specially during Esala Perahara, generally held during the month of July or August is a spectacular event. A delightful procession carries the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha through the streets of Kandy with beautifully decorated Elephants, musicians, fire breathers, dancers, jugglers and acrobats. One of the most exciting and colourful events in Sri Lanka, attracts not only locals but also travellers from all over the world.
