The West Coast of Sri Lanka shows the island at it’s most westernised, it is tourist orientated and there are some very developed areas. A mix of great beaches with various hotels and guest houses cater for any budget. Colombo is the present commercial capital of the island and has lots of great attractions to visit. Negombo has been known as a sea and sun destination for over 40 years and is the nearest destination to the International Airport in Katunayaka. It is an ideal destination to start or end your tour. Bentota is a great beach destination with many water sports readily available. Kalpitiya was a deserted place however there are many developments in place. Also a great place to watch Dolphins. Kaluthara and Beruwala also popular for their beaches. Nonetheless the Wilpattu National Park is in the North West of the island and home to Elephants, Leopards, Sloth Bears and a great many species of birds.
